Student Spotlight: Hollie Kutscher
"My inspiration for this project was nature and its organic form. I chose a picture of a white flower up close that was surrounded by other leaves. The contrast of the stark whiteness of the flower to the darkness of the leaves inspired me to attempt to etch this piece. I was able to explore skills of cross hatching and little lines in order to achieve the darkness. The process was time consuming, yet rewarding. I drew the bulk of my image and then etched, but after a first print I decided to go back and add some more detail to enhance the image. Overall I very much enjoyed the process of etching."
