Student Spotlight: Emily Xie
"Throughout the trip to Rubin Museum, listening to different sounds are interesting and brings up my memories about Japanese or Chinese temple. The fact that both countries believed in Buddhism and the history behind it wasn't as beautiful as it seems. These mono-print are based on the picture of "紫禁城” the most famous Chinese temple where the dynasty live in. I painted the temple on the plastic-glassy plate and then print it on my soaked paper. The process was delicate and we put a lot of effort into every precious piece. I love it."
