Student Spotlight: Yaseen Saleh
"For my copper etching I wanted to do something that was simple but that also had a lot of texture and contrast. So I took the picture of the sidewalk and added the picture of the leaf to add some more detail and complexity to the image. But I wasn't satisfied with that so I added two more smaller leaves on either side of the original leaf. When I was about to put my plate into the acid bath I realized that I had etched out way too much for the darker parts of the sidewalk so I added some hard ground. I had decided to keep my print black to continue with the theme of simplicity."
